Geographic Location

Voted as the 'Best Place for Homeownership in Virginia' in 2014, Bristow, VA is about 30 miles from Washington, D.C.  The Bristow community spans roughly 15 miles and is nestled inside of Prince William County, VA.  

Overall personality

Mostly known for its attractions, Bristow has a suburban feel, but its close enough to shopping in both Gainesville and Manassas. 

Defining Characteristics

Along with most of Prince William County, Bristow has a rich heritage that dates back to the Civil War. The majority of the Bristow Area was previously part of the Linton's Ford plantation, owned by the Linton family from the 18th century.  In the late 1800s the property was donated to the Roman Catholic Church to establish schools for underprivileged students.  In 1922, Linton Hall Military School (now known as Linton Hall School) was founded. In the late 20th century, much of the original property was sold to developers.
Often confused with Bristol, VA the Bristow community has had many names including Briscoe, Bristoe, Bristoe Station, and Bristow Station.  The Board on Geographic Names officially decided upon Bristow as the community's name in 1906.

Noteworthy attractions

Bristow Manor Golf Club – Voted as a 'Top 100 Places to Play from 1998­­–2000' by Golf Digest, this club features a driving range and a putting green in addition its beautiful course.
Bristoe Station Battlefield Heritage Park – Bristow’s Civil War history is embedded in the two battlefields that make up this 133-acre park.  Reenactments of the Battle of Kettle Run (1862) and the Battle of Bristoe Station (1863) attract many visitors.  In addition to the reenactments, there are over two miles of self-guided and guided trails.
Jiffy Lube Live – major outdoor concert amphitheatre that hosts hundred of well-known musicians of all genres, as well as other events such as high school graduations.
LaserTag – for the young and the young at heart, Bristow offers Mobile Laser Tag Parties.
Bristow Manor House – a Premier wedding and Private Events Venue in Northern Virginia.

Transportation Options

Major highways that connect Bristow include Virginia Route 28 (Centreville Road), Linton Hall Road, and Virginia Route 215 (Vint Hill Road).
Passengers may also choose to travel to Fairfax, Virginia and Washington, D.C. by the Virginia Railway Express (VRE).
Another travel option is the Manassas Regional Airport located minutes away in the city of Manassas.
